Diotima Scholarship
The Diotima Scholarship is named in honor of Diotima of Mantinea who, in Plato’s Symposium, taught Socrates about love. The scholarship’s founder, who wishes to remain anonymous, notes that “studying the lessons of classical, medieval, and renaissance periods gives us perspective on modern problems and our own decision-making.” The scholarship was founded to let Marymount students know, “They are in a great place to study the Humanities!”
