Mary Phelan Baynes Endowed Scholarship

Endowed in 1996, this scholarship was endowed through a bequest from long-time Marymount supporter and friend, Mary Phelan Baynes. An entrepreneurial spirit, Ms. Baynes opened her own business during the Depression and became so successful she opened a second store in 1952. A woman ahead of her time, Ms. Baynes had great foresight and lived life to the fullest. The Mary Phelan Baynes Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student pursuing a degree in merchandising, with financial need.
