John P. and Alice S. Mandanis Scholarship

The John P. and Alice S. Mandanis Scholarship was established to honor many years of service to Marymount and the Arlington Community. Dr. John P. Mandanis was an Arlington physician specializing in cardiology and internal medicine at Arlington Hospital. He served as Chief of Medicine, Chief of Cardiology and a member of the Board of Trustees at Arlington Hospital. His wife, Dr. Alice S. Mandanis served as Chief Academic Officer and Professor of English at Marymount University for 37 years. During her tenure she helped transform the university from a junior college for women to a comprehensive university offering undergraduate programs and graduate degrees. The John P. and Alice S. Mandanis Scholarship will support current Marymount undergraduate students with financial need and high academic achievement.
