Jacquelyn Black Scholarship

The Dr. Jacquelyn Black Scholarship was created in 2023 to honor the life and career of Dr. Black who came to Marymount in 1967 as a Professor of Biology. She had a significant impact on many students, faculty, and staff during her tenure. She authored a microbiology textbook that had many editions and has been translated into several languages. She retired in 2015.

The scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in SSME (Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, or Neuroscience) with a minimum 2.5 GPA and Financial Need. This scholarship requires a 500-
word essay. Essay prompt is included in the application located in Blackbaud Award Management.
